A Guide to Hot Fall 2006 Hairstyles

A Guide to Hot Fall 2006 Hairstyles

As summer turns into fall, many women are ready to usher in the changing of the seasons with a fresh new hairstyle. No matter what your hair type or texture, you can find a hot fall hairstyle that works for you. When choosing a hairstyle, take your facial structure into consideration. For example, someone with a high forehead can benefit from side-swept bangs, while a round or square face works well with long lengths that elongate the face. Lucky women with oval faces can wear basically any style they choose. Here are some hot fall 2006 hairstyles that work for a variety of face shapes and hair types:

Romantic Waves -- This look works for hair lengths that are shoulder length or longer, cut into long, graduated layers. After shampooing, work a volumizing mousse into damp hair and blowdry straight. Then set hair on medium-sized hot rollers. Once the rollers are cool, remove and loosen the curls with your fingers, then mist lightly with a gloss-enhancing hairspray.

Straight and Sexy -- Long, straight strands are another hot trend for fall. For best results, your hair should be fairly long with either long layers or no layers. Apply a heat-protecting straightening cream to damp hair then blowdry straight using the largest round brush you can find. Use a straightening iron to lock in sleekness, then finish with a misting of shine spray.

Sideswept Bun -- This tousled variation of the classic bun looks great and is easy to do. Make a deep side part in hair, then gather locks into a loose bun. Secure the bun slightly off center and lower than you normally would, using bobby pins, an elastic or a combination of the two. Pull a few thin tendrils out to frame the face, then mist with a light to medium hold hairspray.

Perky Ponytail -- The classic ponytail gets updated for fall with a few modifications. First, work in a volumizing mousse and blowdry hair straight. Tease hair at the crown, then pull into a high ponytail. Secure with an elastic that matches your hair color, then pull a strand out of the pony, wrap it around the elastic and pin on the underside with a small bobby pin.

Hot Headbands -- Headbands of all kinds are a hot trend for fall hair. There are headbands of all widths, from skinny to wide. There are bands covered with a variety of different fabrics from tweed to satin. Then, there are bands made from plastic and metal and adorned with all sorts of beads, pearls and rhinestones. A cute headband can perk up your whole look, and is the perfect way to salvage a bad hair day.

Cute Accessories -- Marabou-feather barrettes and jeweled butterfly combs are a couple of hot accessories that can dress up hair for fall. Most any style can pull off hair accessories, however take your length into consideration. For shorter hair, go with smaller accessories. Longer hair can handle larger barrettes and clips.
