Top Trends in Shoes for Fall 2006
Can you ever have enough shoes? If you're like many women, the
answer is a resounding “no!” Fall is a perfect time to replenish
your shoe collection. This fall, it's all about making vintage
styles new again. Check out our report on the hottest fall 2006 shoe
trends:
Ballerina Flats -- Do you remember ballerina flats from the
late eighties, early nineties? You probably had a few pairs, because
these comfortable flat shoes came in a variety of fashion colors.
And they sported the most darling, feminine bow. Well, they're back
with a vengeance! Even if you don't buy the hot pink ones, you owe
it to yourself to have at least one black pair!
Wedge Heels -- Another blast from the past is the wedge heel.
Wedge heels come in a variety of colors, styles and materials. One
hot trend for this fall is wedge heels made from bamboo or cork.
Bring a little Eastern flair to your wardrobe with Asian-inspired
brocade fabric shoes that feature a bamboo wedge heel.
Sleek Stilettos -- The stiletto heels from the eighties are
back in fashion. Think innovative new textures like satiny fabric
and menswear inspired tweed. Another hot variation on the stiletto
trend is the clear stiletto, which goes with absolutely everything
and when paired with a miniskirt, makes legs appear miles long!
Patent Leather -- Another trend taken from the past is that
of patent leather. Black patent leather heels look especially
stylish when combined with a vintage pencil skirt. Or, pair patent
leather pumps with plaid or tweed to add feminine flair to a
menswear inspired look. For a hot retro look, try patent leather
square-toe pumps adorned with bow detailing.
Above the Knee Boots -- High boots have been fashionable for
years, and fall 2006 is no exception. You'll find these boots made
from a variety of materials like burnished leather or soft suede.
While some high boots are flat soled, the best look is achieved with
a stacked heel of at least two inches.
Retro Booties -- Booties are a modified version of the boot
that were most popular in the mid-eighties. Today's booties look
great in a variety of colors, patterns and materials, almost always
featuring a skinny heel in lengths from one to four inches. Booties
go with anything from slim jeans to trendy tights.
