Spring/Summer 2007 Bridal Dress Trends

If you're going to be a spring or summer 2007 bride, then you're probably looking for the perfect dress. A wedding dress is a highly personal choice for every bride-to-be. However, checking out some new trends in bridal fashions can help you figure out what kind of dresses you would like to consider. Luckily, trends in bridal fashions this year span from traditional to modern and offer something for every figure and style preference.

Maybe you have your heart set on a traditional gown that features a full skirt and fitted bodice. If so, try a ballerina style gown that pairs a delicate bodice with a frothy tulle skirt that reaches almost to the ground. This style is a bit more pronounced than your average gown and is reminiscent of the old-fashioned hoop skirt. Necklines that work well for this style include strapless, spaghetti strap, and tank. Or, go for an A-line gown that features a bateau or sweetheart neckline for a flattering yet conservative look.

Some brides prefer a more streamlined look. The sheath dress is simple and elegant, and ideal for brides that are comfortable showcasing their figure. To dress up a slim-fitting wedding dress, go for embellishments like pearls, lace and crystal. Stay away from frothy veils when wearing a dress with a slim silhouette and instead go for a sparkling tiara or romantic Juliet cap. When it comes to length, floor length is the most elegant. However, a shorter length can work well for a casual wedding ceremony.

Color is a new trend that some brides are incorporating into their wedding dresses. You can either go for a gown in a solid color or a white gown that features colored accents. Popular solid colors include shimmering shades of beige, peach, pink, periwinkle and even silver. If you want a dress that's primarily white, try choosing one that offers a hint of color. This might mean some embroidery on the bodice or a panel on the skirt.

When it comes to choosing your wedding gown, your decision should be less about what's trendy and more about what works best for you. By trying on a variety of different styles, you can get a better idea about what is flattering for you and what is not. For a little input, take a trusted friend or family member shopping with you. Ultimately, the dress you select should make you look and feel your very best!
